A wizened old man tries to mute his wisdom by chugging a gourd full of milky mucus that stinks of fermented fungus. On seeing you enter, he spits it all over himself. “Ah, shit. Uh, welcome. You come to learn the way of the world? Well, as the wise psionic sages of the Green Age were fond of saying, the world is a fuck.

“But sit down! Let me tell you of the seven sorcerer despots and their innumerable slaves. Let me tell you of how the misuse of magic has sucked life from the land. Let me tell you how everything we need to fight back--food, water, metal, hope--is kept stinted by unending lineage of warlords.

“Oh, is that too much for you? Ain’t no shame. It’s too much for me too. Have some fungus wine. I grew the mushrooms in a decaying hamper of dead man’s clothes.”

TROIKA! DARK! SUN! is a supplement for the Troika! roleplaying game. It’s based on a D&D property, Dark Sun, that I love. Since the D&D company has publicly stated they won’t return to Dark Sun, I have claimed it from the endless sands of abandoned IP. Watch me dust it off and desecrate it.
